Bryony (she/her) is an artist and designer with a love for illustration and surface pattern design. Inspired by the natural world and wildlife, she loves observing small details in her illustrations and artworks.
"My favourite mediums to work with are watercolour, gouache, pencil and fineliner pen, but I'm always experimenting and love to explore new techniques and processes! I have always loved keeping sketchbooks and journals to document my ideas and express myself through art."
In 2015, Bryony graduated from Staffordshire University with a first class BA (Hons) in Surface Pattern Design. During her time at university she explored a range of mediums and processes- from observational drawing to repeat pattern design, silk screen printing, natural dyes, hand and machine sewing, digital design and lots in-between!
"Combining my interests, I delight in creating whimsical illustrations and pattern designs inspired by nature with a traditional yet contemporary feel."
Bryony started her business "Bristle & Bud" in 2019, creating artworks inspired by flora, fauna and fungi as well as custom watercolour portraits of homes, pets and people. As well as selling online, Bristle & Bud has exhibited at a range of craft markets, selling greetings cards, prints and handmade jewellery- Inspired by Nature, Made by Hand.
"I love meeting likeminded creatives and small business owners to share inspiration and support one another on our journeys!"
